This is a collection of three knitting patterns that feature three different types of garment construction.
Facile Sweater has a classic four-piece construction. We make the front, the back, and two sleeves, and then stitch these pieces together to make a sweater. The pieces have no shaping other than strategically mixed segments worked in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, and a combination of the two. This simple construction and easy stitch patterns make this sweater a perfect “first sweater” project.
Sideways Sweater is knitted sideways from the left shoulder to the right shoulder with the neckline shaped as we knit. The sleeves are knitted from the shoulders to the wrists, so if you’d like to make the sleeves shorter or longer, you can easily do it any time.
Everyday Tee is worked from the bottom up. We knit in the round to the underarms, and then we knit the top parts of the front and the back separately back and forth. The short sleeves are shaped as we go with very little finishing required after the body of the sweater is knitted.
All patterns are available in 18 sizes, from a size that fits a 2 year-old toddler to a size that fits a 134 cm / 53″ bust, so you can make these sweaters for everyone in your family, and learn three different ways to build a sweater in the process.
As always, each pattern has links to the numerous video tutorials that demonstrate knitting techniques used to make that project, and as always, each pattern is written in an easy-to-follow step-by-step format with lots of tips that help you to avoid knitting mistakes.
