I had a hole of the bottom of my Judy’s magic cast on which I have already closed up, but I have quite a bit of holes on one side of my sock. Fortunately, it seems to have resolved and isn’t continuing, but I will have to go back and use the whip stitch later on to close up the side that’s messy.

I had tried to use Maryana’s  technique of closing up the side and I think I wasn’t doing it right, unless there was another error that I was making. Either way, I find that tugging on the first two stitches works best for me.

The looseness seems to happen only at the beginning of the round. Most likely, you didn't pull the yarn hard enough to tighten the last stitch after you worked the 4-step method that prevents the jog. I am glad the issue improved after the first few rounds of the colour work.
