It's finished!
Quote from Maryna on July 3, 2025, 3:34 pmThis is the result of three weeks of knitting. The sock looks nice, and I feel that I've learned so much during this knitalong, mostly because of your comments here at the Knit Room.
I hope you too enjoyed knitting your Pixel Socks with me. I'd love to see your socks and get your feedback. Please, let me know - Was the knitalong easy to follow? Did you enjoy it? What can I do to make future knitalongs better?
Thank you so much, my friends!

With regards to the knit-a-long structure, I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I appreciate the videos and the links. I also like having the time and flexibility to knit at my own pace. My goal was to learn new techniques and that has happened already (with the mistakes to prove it!) and I’m only halfway through. 🙂
Thanks for all your work setting this up. It’s a real treat.

My pixel socks are done! It was a race, right? 😂
Not blocked yet though. They are a bit elongated looking as I chose the wrong size and tried to compensate for it. The socks are a little too tight for me but will gift to my sister 🙂 Wool was just from my stash. I was okay with leaving in 2 mistakes in the project only because I had frogged already a few times and I just couldn’t bring myself to go so far back again to correct them. My jog needs work I know but seemed to improve a little in the end. I kept getting an elongated stitch but didn’t know what was causing it. I will try the newer technique for the next pair.
Really happy I joined this knit-along. I learned so much, my first toe up socks, the magic cast on, the perfect heel using shadow wraps, the jog, twisted ribbing and a new bind off technique, and already have new wool to start my next pair - hopefully without mistakes this time.
Maryna, I appreciated how well you explained a technique and then followed with ‘this is how I would do it’, eg. using the lifted short rows to make it a bit easier. As well, the detailed video instructions. It was so nice to follow along with knitting the same project.
I have knit quite a few pairs of socks and I always seem to learn I did something wrong to late, hence the many pairs. I can now go forward with these new techniques!
Are your videos for the pixel socks still available to us to replay after the knit along is finished (I can't remember). Thank you for the downloadable files too to reference.
Thank you!!
Ta da!

Uploaded files:Quote from Jennifer on July 7, 2025, 10:19 pmWoo hoo! Done! Love my new quarter-length socks! And I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Thank you, Maryna!
I learned many lessons…..and I got the chance to really work on techniques that needed practice (and some still do). The jog minimizing technique is excellent and I’m 100% certain that my troubles with it initially were because of inadvertently twisting yarns and who knows what else! Ha ha! I am much happier with how it turned out once I got on with doing it right. I love the heel - fits perfectly. Working the magic loop needed practice so I used this project as an opportunity to go for it; it’s going to get lots of use moving forward as working with one needle is less risky than with dpns (thinking of knitting on trains or, more importantly, knitting with little one around).
The colour work pattern itself was easy to follow and fun to do. As I finished up today it occurred to me that it might be a good skirt pattern on a young child’s dress (I have a new great-niece).
Thanks again for the fun project! 🧶 💞

Dawn, your socks are gorgeous! I am so glad you enjoyed this project and learnt new methods along the way. The videos will stay in the club resources indefinitely, and you can rewatch them any time you need a refresher.

Thanks again for the fun project! 🧶 💞Jennifer, they are beautiful! Yay! It is a terrific idea to use this colour pattern on a skirt. I am also thinking of putting it on a yoke of a sweater. There are so many ways we can use it. Thank you for joining this fun event. I am so happy you enjoyed it ✨🧶

Thank you so very much for this knitalong!
I was hesitant to attempt colorwork in a toe up sock! I only have done a toe up sock once before, but your toe shape is anatomically correct, the curvature is perfect!
I opted for the 5 double pointed needle set, as I didn't have the right circular needles at hand. I like to try the magic loop and see if that works out better.
I loved leaning the short rows in the heel, again the heel fits perfectly.
As you suggested I knitted the cuff using the standard 1x1 rib and the bind off is brilliant!
Things to improve:
-Tension
I became aware that I need to work on the tension in the colorwork. I tried to use different ways handling the two colors and I found that holding both colors on each hand worked best, though I need practice with the english style.
-Jog
As you can see in the photo to foot part has a lot of elongated stitches, and it took some experimenting to achieve a better result in the leg part.
Overall I am thrilled to have joined the knitalong, and plan to adopt these new learned techniques in sock making!
Thank you Maryna! You are a wonderful teacher!
