I called this sweater “Facile” (it means “easy, effortless” in French) because the construction of this sweater is very simple.
But the stitch patterns are arranged in such a way, that creates a lovely shaping and makes the sweater flow around your body.
Without much effort, you create a flattering silhouette that is also very comfortable to wear. This pattern is perfect for a “first sweater” project. It is easy to follow and is supported by five video tutorials that demonstrate the techniques used to make this project.
The pattern provides instructions for 8 sizes:
five regular sizes – to fit bust 88 (92, 96, 100, 104) cm / 34.5 (36.25, 37.75, 39.25, 41)”,
and three slim sizes – to fit bust 76 (80, 84) cm / 30 (31.5, 33)”.
To help you navigate through the pattern, I made separate pdf files for each group of sizes (regular and slim).
Use any yarn that has a nice draping (bamboo, modal, rayon, silk) in DK weight (digit 3 on the yarn label) + 5 mm (US size 8) knitting needles. The sweater in the photo is knit with Knitca Bamboo yarn in Lotus colour.
You will need:
around 950 (980, 1030, 1080, 1130) m / 1040 (1080, 1130, 1190, 1240) yds of yarn for regular sizes,
around 820 (870, 910) m / 900 (950, 1000) yds for slim sizes,
Happy knitting 🙂

Finished my first sweater! Love this simple pattern. It was not difficult and all the tips were very helpful! I am fairly new knitter and I got the courage to do this sweater. I am glad I did! It truly has been a labor of love for me. Can’t wait to do the next one. Thank you Maryna 😀
